If you have a product or service you want to promote via the phones…you can just wing it or you can be prepared.
In order to be prepared…do a test run of how you will be received when you call.
Ask those industries you are calling what is the best time/who to talk to/are they open to this product/service.
Do some test calls and then be willing to change your script/calling program accordingly.
Be prepared to know that telemarketing ALONE may NOT be ALL you need to get results.
you may have to ask if you can send them info via email/fx/newsletters and get to know/trust you slowly.
Consumers are too skittish these days to buy something from someone they do not know in one call.
